Abercrombie, Euan: A Gryffindor student.
Ackerly, Stewart: A Ravenclaw student.
Agrippa: A character on a chocolate frog card.
Alderton, Archibald: Blew up a village when trying to mix a birthday cake.
Alecto: Sister of Ameycus. A Death Eater.
Ameycus: Brother of Alecto. A Death Eater.
Aragog: Was fed and raised by Hagrid when he was a child. Died in early 1997 due to old age.
Archie: An old wizard who wore a female nightgown during the Quidditch World Cup so he could enjoy a healthy breeze round his privates.

Baddock, Malcolm: A Slytherin student.
Bagman, Ludo: The former Wimbourne wasps beater who was accused of being a death eater and commentated at the Quidditch World Cup. He lost all his money on bets and couldn't pay his debts, so he fled.
Bagman, Otto: Ludo's brother.
Bagnold, Mathilda: The Minister of Magic before Cornelius Fudge.
Bagshot, Bathilda: Author of "A History of Magic".
Bane: A centaur. Harry meets him in the Forbidden Forest.
Bashir, Ail: Wants to sell flying carpets in UK, in which they are banned.
Basil: A Ministry worker.
Bell, Katie: One of the chasers for Gryffindor.
Prof. Binns: The History of Magic teacher. He is the only teacher that is a ghost.
Black, Alphrad: Sirius' uncle who gave him some gold to get his own place. Taken off the Black Family Tree.
Black, Elladora: Sirius' aunt who started the tradition of beheading house-elves.
Black, Regulus: Sirius' brother who tried to leave the Death Eaters but was killed.
Black, Sirius: Harry's godfather who was wrongly accused of killing Peter Pettigrew and twelve other muggles. He spent thirteen years in Azkaban. Killed by cousin Bellatrix Lestrang.
Bletchley, Miles: The keeper for the Slytherin quidditch team.
Bloody Baron: The Slytherin ghost with blood stains all over him.
Bones, Amelia: A fair witch who was the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Killed in the summer of 1996 in a room with locked doors.
Bones, Susan: A Hufflepuff in Harry's year whose relatives were killed by Voldemort.
Boot, Terry: A Ravenclaw in Harry's year.
Borage, Liberatus: The author of Advanced Potion Making
Bott, Bertie: Invented "Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans".
Branstone, Eleanor: A Hufflepuff student.
Bryce, Frank: The Riddle's gardener who was murdered by Lord Voldemort.
Brocklehurst, Mandy: A Ravenclaw in Harry's year.
Brown, Lavender: A Gryffindor in Harry's year. Had an affair with Ron and called him "Won-Won"
Buckbeak: The hippogriff who bit Malfoy and was sentenced to be beheaded for being "savage." Saved when Hermione and Harry went back in time to save Sirius and Buckbeak. Now called Witherwings
Bulstrode, Millicent: A Slytherin in Harry's year. Hermione turned into her cat, when drinking the polyjuice potion in their 2nd Year.

Cauldwell, Owen: A Hufflepuff student.
Chang, Cho: Harry's ex-crush who is a year older and is also seeker for the Ravenclaw quidditch team. Is now ashamed of meeting Harry
Circe: A character on a chocolate frog card.
Cliodna: A character on a chocolate frog card.
Crabbe, Vincent: One of Malfoy's dim-witted henchmen.
Creevey, Colin: Worships Harry. He was petrified when the Chamber of Secrets was opened.
Creevey, Dennis: Colin's younger brother.
Crockford, Doris: A woman at the Leaky Cauldron that kept lining up to shake Harry's hand.
Crookshanks: Hermione's big hairy orange/brown cat who was accused of killing Scabbers and helped Sirius get into Hogwarts.
Crouch, Bartemius: The deceased head of "International Magical Cooperation".
Crouch, Bartemius Jr.: Tortured Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom and escaped from Azkaban only to lock up then impersonated Alastor Moody throughout Harry's 4th year at Hogwarts. Received the dementor's kiss, under the order of Cornelius Fudge

Dennis: He is in Dudley's little gang of big, stupid, bullies.
Diggle, Dedalus: McGonagall suspects that he set off ireworks the day Voldemort fell. He also meets Harry at the Leaky Cauldron.
Dumbledore, Aberforth: Dumbledore's brother who was in the Order and is the barman at the Hog's Head.
Dumbledore, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian: He is the headmaster at Hogwarts and one of the most respected wizards in the world. Killed by Snape in 1997 during the Invasion of Hogwarts
Dursley, Dudley: Harry's very fat cousin who is a mean, spoiled, bully.
Dursley, Marge: Sister of Vernon Dursley, she hates Harry, maybe even more then the other Dursleys. She breeds dogs, and her favorite dog is named Ripper.
Dursley, Petunia: Harry's long necked aunt who spends much of her time spying on the perfectly normal neighbors.
Dursley, Vernon: Harry's big beefy, mean, uncle with hardly any neck who is the president of a drill company named Grunning's.
Delacour, Fleur: The Beauxbatons school champion.
Delacour, Gabrielle: Fleur's little eight year-old sister whom Harry rescued from the depth's of the lake during hte second task, when he was showing "moral fiber".
Delaney Podmore, Patrick: The leader of the headless hunt in which Nearly Headless Nick could not participate in.
Diggory, Amos: Cedric's father who is the head of the Department of Magical Transportation in the ministry.
Diggory, Cedric: One of the Hogwart's school champions who was killed by Lord Voldemort. He was in Hufflepuff and was captain and seeker of the Hufflepuff quidditch team.
Dobbs, Emma: A Hogwarts student.
Dobby: The Malfoy's house elf, who was set free by Harry, he now works at Hogwarts.

Emeric the Evil: was mixed up with Uric the Oddball in History of Magic.
Errol: The Weasley's old beat up owl.

F

Fat Friar: The Hufflepuff house resident ghost.
Fawkes: Dumbledore's pet phoenix who saved Harry's life in the Chamber of Secrets.
Filch, Argus: The Hogwarts caretaker who is a squib and is constantly raging a war againt the students.
Finnigan, Seamus: One of Harry's fellow Gryffindor friends.
Fletcher, Mundungus: A crook that is also part of the Order of the Phoenix. Arrested for impersonating an inferus during a burglary

Gaunt, Marvolo: The grandfather of Voldemort. Is crazy about Slytherin heirlooms. Descendant of Salazar Slytherin
Gaunt, Merope: The mother of Voldemort. Used love potion on Tom Riddle Sr. Descendant of Salazar Slytherin
Gaunt, Morfin: The uncle of Voldemort. Has a history of attacks on Muggles. Descendant of Salazar Slytherin.
Goshawk, Miranda: Author of "The Standard book of Spells, Grade 2."
Granger, Hermione Jane: A very clever Gryffindor and Harry's and Ron's best friend.
Greyback, Fenrir: A werewolf that wishes to overcome wizards with werewolves and loves to bite kids. Is a Death Eater.

Half-Blood Prince, The: Severus Snape
Hagrid, Ruebus: Hogwarts gamekeeper, Harry, Hermione and Ron's friend. Teaches "Care of Magical Creatures" at Hogwarts.
Hedwig: Harry's devoted and faithful owl.
Hengist of Woodcroft: Chocolate frog card character.
Hermes: Percy's screech owl.
Higgs, Terrence: The Slytherin quidditch team's seeker before Malfoy.
Hooch, Madam: The quidditch teacher at Hogwarts.
Hopkirk, Mafalda: Witch from the Improper Use of magic Office. She sends Harry a warning after Dobby uses a Hover charm.
Hufflepuff, Helga: One of the four powerful witches and wizards that founded Hogwarts. Hufflepuff house is named after her.
Humberto, The Great: Person on a show, Dudley is mad that he missed when the Dursleys and Harry are running from all of the letters.

Imago, Inigo: Author of The Dream Oracle.
Ivanova: Bulgarian Chaser.

Jigger, Arsenius: Author of "Magical Drafts and Potions."
Johnson, Angelina: Gryffindor student and chaser who left Hogwarts in 1996.
Jones, Hestia: Member of The Order of the Phoenix and part of the Advance Guard.
Jordan, Lee: The Weasley twins' friend in chaos. Gryffindor student and announcer for the quidditch matches.
Jorkins, Bertha: A witch who was curious, had a good memory and kept blabbing. Learned of Crouch's secret, had a memory charm put on her that affected her memory. The charm was broken by Voldemort who than killed her.
Jugson: A Death Eater who fought in the Battle of the Department of Mystries.

K

Karkaroff, Igor: Durmstrang Institute headmaster. Former death eater who fled when Voldemort rose again. Killed during the summer of 1996.
Kettleburn, Professor: Former teacher of Care of Magical Creatures who retired to spend remaining time with his limbs.
Kirke, Andrew: A sub-standard beater for the Gryffindor team during the year 1995-96.
Kreacher: The old house-elf belonging to the Blacks. Loved Mrs. Black and hated anyone not on the family tree. Now belongs to Harry via Sirius' will and works at Hogwarts
Krum, Viktor: Bulgarian National quidditch team's seeker. Student at Durmstrang, dated Hermione at the Yule Ball.

Lestrange, Bellatrix: Death Eater. Wife of Bellatrix, cousin of Sirius and Narcissa. Specializes in Cruciatus Curse and killed Sirius Black.
Lestrange, Rabastan: Brother of Rodolphus and a Death Eater.
Lestrange, Rodolphus: Death Eater. Brother of Rabastan and husband of Bellatrix.
Lockhart, Gilderoy: Former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Lost his memory. A Wizard celebrity.
Longbottom, Algie: Neville's great uncle .
Longbottom, Enid: Neville's great aunt.
Longbottom, Frank: Neville's father who was tortured by Bartemius Crouch Jr. and lost his memory.
Longbottom, Neville: An extremely forgetful Gryffindor student, who could have been in the same spot as Harry as the prophecy mentioned him also.
Lovegood, Luna "Loony": A Ravenclaw and a DA Memeber who is a bit weird. Her father runs the Quibbler. Called "Loony" by others. Besides Neville the only one who misses the DA.
Lupin, Remus: Former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Is a werewolf and is in the Order of the Phoneix.

M

MacDougal, Morag: Student at Hogwarts mentioned in the sorting.
MacMillan, Ernie: Hufflepuff student who is slightly pompous but has his heart and his loyalties in the right place.
Macnair, Walden: Was an executioner of dangerous creatures for the Ministry of Magic, but now is spending time in Azkaban for being a Death Eater.
Malfoy, Draco: Harry's arch-nemesis. A Slytherin student and seeker. Turned a Death Eater and tried to kill Dumbledore because Voldemort threatened his family.
Malfoy, Lucius: Draco's father, is a Death Eater. Is currently in Azkaban and is facing fury from Voldemort.
Malfoy, Narcissa: Draco's pale-faced mother, sister of Bellatrix and cousin of Sirius.
Malkin, Madam: Owns robe shop.
Mason, Mr. and Mrs.: A rich builder and wife who come to a dinner party at the Dursley's on Harry's twelfth birthday.
Maxime, Olympe: Half-giant headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy, claims she is Big-Boned. Hagrid has a crush on her. Goes with Hagrid to bring the giants to the good side.
McClaggen, Cormac: A large Gryffindor boy who is self-conceited.
McGonagall, Minerva: The strict Transfiguration teacher. Is Head of Gryffindor house and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. Probably will become Headmistress.
McGuffin, Jim: Muggle weatherman.
McKinnons:: A Family killed by Voldemort
Merlin: Character on Chocolate Frog card.
Mimsey-Porpington, Sir Nicholas de: Nearly Headless Nick's real name, The Gryffindor house resident ghost. His head is held on by a small piece of sinew. Been Dead for over 500 Years.
Moaning Myrtle: Unhappy girl ghost that haunts the upstairs girls' bathroom. Was killed by the Basilisk when the Chamber first opened.
Moody, Alastor: Former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Highly successful auror, was stunned and kept in a box throughout the entire schoolyear at Hogwarts while he was being impersonated by the late Bartemius Crouch Jr. Is very paranoid and is part of the Order.
Moon: A Hogwarts student mentioned in sorting.
Moony: Remus Lupin's childhood nickname.
Morgana: Character on Chocolate Frog card.
Mrs. Norris: Filch's cat that stalks the castle looking for any rule-breaking. Has a very strong connection with Filch.

N

Nagini: Voldemort's pet snake. Possibly is a Horcrux of Voldemort.
Nearly Headless Nick: The Gryffindor house resident ghost. His head is held on by a small piece of sinew. Been Dead for over 500 Years.
Nigellus, Phineas: Sirius' great-great-grandfather and the least popular Headmaster of Hogwarts.
Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback: Hagrid's pet dragon.
Nott: A Death Eater who was stunned by Hermione in the Department of Mystries.
Nott, Theodore: Son of the Death Eater Nott. Is a stringy Slytherin boy. Can see thestrals.

O

Oblansk: The Buglarian Minister of Magic.
Odgen, Tiberius: Wizengamot elder.
Ogg: The gamekeeper at Hogwarts prior to Hagrid.
Ollivander: Owns the wand shop in Diagon Ally. Dissapeared during mid 1996 without a trace of struggle.

P

Padfoot: Sirius Black's childhood Hogwarts nickname.
Paracelsus: A bust of this wizard stands halfway down the shortest route between the Gryffindor common room and the Owlery.
Parkinson, Pansy: A Slytherin girl with a face like a pug.
Patil, Padma: Sister of Parvati and in Ravenclaw. Was Ron's date to the Yule Ball.
Patil, Parvati: Sister of Padma and in Gryffindor. Was Harry's date to the Yule Ball.
Peakes, Jimmy: The Gryffindor Beater.
Perkins: An old warlock that worked with Arthur Weasley.
Peeves: A poltergeist who loves to get students in trouble. The only person who can control him is the Bloody Baron.
Pettigrew, Peter: One of the Marauder who was in the Order and the secret keeper of Lily and James, but betrayed them and joined the Death Eaters. Spent 12 years in hiding as Ron's rat but returned to Voldemort and helped him regain his body.
Pigwidgeon: Ron's hyper and tiny owl that was given to him by Sirius.
Pince, Madam: The Hogwarts librarian. Filch might have a crush on her.
Podmore, Sturgis: Part of the Order and the Advance Guard. Was arrested trying to break into the Department of Mystries but actually was under the Imperius Curse.
Polkiss, Piers: Dudley's friend. He goes to the zoo with the Dursleys and Harry.
Pomfrey, Poppy: The Hogwarts school nurse.
Potter, Harry James: "the boy who lived" and "The Chosen One". Harry lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousin that despise him before learning that he is a wizard. He goes to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Everyone who tried to protect him was killed and he is the only one who can kill Voldemort.
Potter, James: Harry's father who was killed by Lord Voldemort.
Potter, Lily: Harry's mother who was also killed by Lord Voldemort. Was given a choice to live but died saving Harry.
Prewetts, Fabian and Gideon: Brothers killed by Voldemort and part of the Order of the Phoenix. Took five death eaters to kill them.
Prince, Eileen: The mother of Severus Snape.
Prongs: James Potter's childhood nickname.
Ptolemy: Character on Chocolate Frog card. Ron doesn't have this one.
Pucey, Adrian: A Slytherin chaser and student.

Q

Quigley: An Irish Beater.
Quirrel: Former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who is now dead since he allowed Voldemort to possess him.

R

Ravenclaw, Rowena: One of the four wizards and witches that founded Hogwarts. Ravenclaw house is named after her. Took intelligent kids into her house.
Riddle, Tom Marvolo: a.k.a. Lord Voldemort. Son of Tom Riddle and Merope Gaunt. Prefect, Head Boy, and an overall intelligent kid from Hogwarts, but turned out to be pure evil. Marvolo is his maternal grandfather's name.
Ripper: Aunt Marge's dog to whom she seems to have some sort of caring attitude. Chased Harry up a tree years ago.
Ronan: A centaur in the Forbidden Forest.
Rookwood, Augustus: A spy for the Death Eaters in the Ministry of Magic. Named by Igor Karkaroff.
Rosmerta: The maid of the Three Broomsticks.

S

Scabbers: a.k.a Peter Pettigrew. Pretended to be Ron's rat for thirteen years.
Scamander, Newt: Author of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"
Scrimageour, Rufus: The Minister of Magic who was the Head of the Auror Department. Wants to be seen as doing something even if it does involve fraudulent arrests.
Skeeter, Rita: Daily Prophet writer who writes horrible lies about people including Harry, Hermione and Hagrid.
Slughorn, Horace: The potions teacher during Harry's 6th year. Loves to have connections to well known and powerful people. Loved Lily as she was his best student and Tom Riddle since he was intelligent. He knows about Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Slytherin, Salazar: One of the four witches and wizards who founded Hogwarts. Slytherin house is named after him. He created the Chamber of Secrets, to the rid the school of people unworthy.
Snape, Severus: The greasy haired potions teacher (DADA teacher in 1996-97) who was head of Slytherin house. Was the death eater that told Voldemort about the prophecy but supposedly came back to the good side and spied on Voldemort. In 1997 betrayed the Order by killing Dumbledore and fleeing.
Snape, Tobias: Father of Severus Snape, husband of Eileen Prince, and a Muggle. Seems to have abused his wife and son.
Spinnet, Alicia: A Gryffindor chaser and student.
Spore, Phyllida: Author of "One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi."
Sprout, Proffesor: Herbology teacher and head of Hufflepuff house.
Switch, Emeric: Author of "A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration."

T

Ted: Muggle news reporter.
Thomas, Dean: A tall, black Gryffindor student who is a very good drawer. Had a brief stint with Ginny and on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
Tom: Bartender at the Leaky Cauldron.
Tonks, Andromeda: Sirius' favorite cousin, and Nymphadora's mother.
Tonks, Nymphadora: Member of the Order, Advanced Guard and an Auror. A bit clumsy. Is in love with Lupin. Likes to be called "Tonks".
Tonks, Ted: Father of Nymphadora and a Muggle-born.
Trelawney, Sibyll: The Divination teacher with huge glasses, who made two accurate prophecies.
Trevor: Neville's toad.
Trimble, Quentin: Author of "The Dark Forces: A Guide ot Self Protection."
Turpin, Lisa: A Ravenclaw student.

Uric the Oddball: was mixed up with Emeric the Evil in History of Magic.

Vablatsky, Cassandra: Author of "Unfogging the Future."
Viridian, Vindictus: Author of "Curses and Countercurses."
Voldemort: a.k.a Tom Riddle, Dark Lord, You-Know-Who, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The feared Dark wizard and leader of the Death Eaters.

W

Waffling, Adalbert: Author of "A Magical Theory."
Warbeck, Celectina: A popular singing sorceress.
Weasley, Arthur: Ron's father who was head of the "Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office" in the Ministry. Now heads up a larger division intented upon protecting people from fraud protection items.
Weasley, Bill: The eldest Weasley brother. Is a charm-breaker at Gringotts. Was Head Boy at Hogwarts, when he attended there. Is set to marry Fleur. Was bitten by werewolf, Fenrir Greyback when he had not yet transformed.
Weasley, Charlie: The second eldest Weasley brother. He breeds dragons in Romania, and was the Gryffindor Quiddith Captain, when he was at Hogwarts.
Weasley, Fred and George: Ron's two year older twins who run a successful joke shop in Diagon Alley.
Weasley, Ginevra (Ginny) Molly: The youngest Weasley, and the first female Weasley in a long time. Powerful, needless of size. Is Harry's girlfriend.
Weasley, Molly: The mother of all of the Weasley kids. Maiden name is Prewett
Weasley, Percy Ignatius: The strict and rule-abiding Weasley who disowned his family and now serves the Minister of Magic.
Weasley, Ron Billus: Harry's best friend at Hogwarts and likes Hermione Granger. Another Weasley kid.
Winky: Barty Crouch's house elf that was sacked at the Quidditch World Cup and now works at Hogwarts. Is in a state of complete disorder. Taken care of by Dobby.
Wood, Oliver: The former Gryffindor quidditch team's captain who now is a reserve keeper for Puddlemore United.
Wormtail: Peter Pettigrew's childhood Hogwarts nickname.

Yvonne: Aunt Petunia's friend that is vacationing in Majorca during the first book.
