The status of the WOMBAT test everyone took at JKR's website is currently at "in the post"! This means that we will probably hear the results very soon! Be sure to be on the lookout for any owls!
JK Rowling's website has been updated to include a WOMBAT student identification card at the top of the virtual desk. After selecting the card and entering your student indentification number (which you received after you took the test), you will then be taken to a page containing an old clock. The hand of the clock currently points to "paper being marked", but expect it to swing over to results in the post" and "results delivered" soon! Thanks to Mugglenet for the tip.
JK Rowling has updated her diary on her site. She describes her search for paper in Edinburgh, the status of Book 7 ("going well") and her latest visit to Leavesden Studios (her verdict on Evanna Lynch as Luna: "perfect").
Furthermore she updated her rumor section with Mugglenet/TLC's April Fools joke, and added a rant about the weight-obsessed society we live in.
JK Rowling has removed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door on here site. For instructions on how to open the door, highlight below:
Look behind the plant to see the tip of a small rock. Drag it over to the mirror and it should shatter. Grab the key from the area and insert it into the keyhole. Next click on a message from the area and close. Than type in "reparo" (without the quotes). Click on the door in the mirror and watch the main door opne. Drag the gold needle on the black box and drag into to the North position (straight up). You will now be able to take the W.O.M.B.A.T test! Good Luck!
The American publisher of Harry Potter, Scholastic, continues to introduce new additional downloads for each book in the series. The latest addition was the Chamber of Secrets, and the Prisoner of Azkaban through Goblet of Fire will be available in the coming weeks.
Warner Bros is reporting that in the first 24 hours of sale, the Goblet of Fire DVD has sold nearly 5 million copies! According to President of Warner Home Video, Ron Sanders, "We are extremely pleased with the out-of-the-gate success of the DVD release of 'Goblet of Fire. We knew fans really connected with this installment in the Harry Potter series, and that continued loyalty to the franchise has carried over to these phenomenal DVD sales figures.". Thanks to Mugglenet for the tip.
The Sunday Times reports that Scottish airport officials are "considering a proposal to rebrand Scotland’s main hubs," and JK Rowling is one of several famous Scottish figures whose name is being considered. Treat this as a rumor for some time. Thanks to VTM for the link.
Voting for Nickelodeon annual Kids Choice Awards has begun. Goblet of Fire is up for Favorite Movie and the entire series is up for Favorite Book. Your can vote at their site. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 1. Thanks to VTM for the tip.
The Telegraph reports that while much of Scotland is being affected by snow, the part of the country where OOTP is being filmed has not gotten as much snow. This apparently is a concern, as the paper says it will be part of the opening scene in the newest Harry Potter film, and they need this snow for the movie. They say that "Warner Brothers have chosen Fort William and the nearby glens as a preferred area for Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix and snow-capped mountains are vital for the opening sequence."
This news bit seems confusing to us fans, because as we know OOTP begins on a very hot summer day. However TLC claims that the mountains are probably for later scenes (a flashback to Hagrid and the giants perhaps).
